The antibody is purified, and suitable for a variety of applications, such as, detection of biotinalyted proteins, antibodies or DNA/RNA probes.
The anti-biotin antibody is produced from mouse hybridoma cell line (clone 3B7) which was generated by fusion of the spleen cells (from biotin-immunized mice) and SP2 cells. Biotin is a water soluble B complex vitamin, and the synthetic biotin derivative (biotinylation reagent) allows the biotin moiety covalently attach to the antibody molecule, resulting in a biotin-labeled antibody. The biotin-labeled antibodies are often used for target detection and signal amplification in an immunoassay procedure (i.e. WB, IHC, ELISA, ISH). The anti-biotin antibdoy (clone 3B7) has a high affinity to bind biotin-labeled antibodies and biotinylated nucleic acid probes. The unconjugated anti-biotin antibody can be used to detect biotin-labeled primary antibody employing enzymes or fluorescent-labeled anti-mouse antibodies.
